This farmhouse kitchen doesn’t have the popular “farmhouse” look people strive for today, but it is unique, and a wonderfully creative place to create delicious meals. My cousin, Deb, is an accomplished cook and entertainer extraordinaire. She makes all kinds of culinary magic happen in this wonderful kitchen regularly.
A Farmhouse kitchen
The galley kitchen is just off the dining room and has open shelving for dishes, spices, and cooking supplies giving easy access and visibility. It’s a typical galley kitchen – but with a wider than usual span between sides.
All the charm of a farmhouse kitchen with plenty of space for creating delicious meals for a few or entertaining a crowd.
The simplicity of this kitchen keeps it stylish, clean, organized and ready to whip up any meal. I’ve seen my cousin operate in this kitchen – she is a master.
Seeing the inside of different homes inspires me. From the time I was a young girl, I loved seeing inside the homes of my friends. There was something magical to me about the way they lived and arranged their belongings. As an adult, I’m still interested in seeing home interiors. If you are like me, you can see the living room in this home here and beautiful antique pieces here.
When I’ve spent time in the home of a friend or family member I usually return home inspired to try something new and fresh in my home. Maybe it’s re-arranging some cutting boards into a basket, or painting a wall (or furniture), adding a plant … or even removing some items to help the room feel more open.
I encourage you to invite people into your home. Visit people in their homes too. Sharing meals and being together in our home is a great way to deepen friendships and start new friendships.
Who will you invite to dinner this month?
