As of December 2008, I’ve been working in this office downtown.
Good people, great parties, beautiful atmosphere. And who could complain about once a month “Therapeutic Thursday” when beer and appetizers are served in the office during the last hour of the day?
Inspite of all that “goodness”, my position here just doesn’t “fit me right”. So when I saw this ad in the paper on March 8th, I updated the resume…and mailed it out.
This past Monday I interviewed for the position.
On Tuesday afternoon I was offered the job.
Which I gratefully accepted.
Today, I resigned from my current job….and my last day will be Friday.
I start the new job on April 6.
This job should “fit” much better. It’s pretty similar to the job I had a little over a year ago that abruptly ended when my boss retired. This new job will give me opportunity to do the things I enjoy — and opportunity to use my mad skills.
Here’s where I’ll be working: (on the 4th floor)
It’s closer to home, and parking is free.
I’ve been at my current job 3 short months. Which, I’ve learned, can be just long enough to connect with a co-worker. Today I said good-bye to my best friend at my current job. Brittney has been a great friend and co-worker. We understand each other. We think the same way. Who cares if I’m old enough to be her mother?!
Brittney…you made a difference for me at work. I’m glad we met . . . and I’m glad we are going to keep in touch! I’m looking forward to our lunch in a few weeks….and many more after that!
