Day is done
Gone the sun.
From the lakes, From the hills, from the skies
All is well. Safely rest. God is nigh.

Photo taken this evening from new church site.

It’s gonna be a crazy week to be sure, but today is done.
I lived through my first day on the new job. It is quite the experience to be trained by a woman who has done the job for 20+ years. Within the first hour I had already seen enough to know that there will be changes made, by me. The difficult part will be making these changes with her still working 2 days a week. I know it will be hard for her to see “the way it’s always been done” changed — and I will have to be sensitive to that. I can see that just teaching me the job is a challenge for her. She really doesn’t know how to “train” me — she is the pro and doesn’t even think about what she is doing (or how inefficient it is) — it’s just the way we’ve always done it.
After work I quickly stopped at home to change clothes then headed to the church site to check in with the team I pulled together to clean the floors in preparation for the concrete stainer to work on Wednesday. Then back home again, where I cooked up some fresh eggs for Kirk, Danae & her friends Jaden & Josh. Cleaned up dishes, helped Kirk and the kids raise the end wall of the barn, then off to the church building site to meet with the Children’s Ministry team to give them some vision for their respective children’s rooms — ok, my vision. I think they left feeling better about how their kids rooms would look. I’m excited to get some fun colors on the walls! — Got home at 9:00 and made tomorrow’s dinner, watched CSI with Kirk, blogging now, heading to bed in 10 minutes.
4 college students in the hot tub….one studying for finals.
Our house is not as quiet as it used to be!
Day is done.
Amen.
