A good time was had by all tonight – JoLynn & Dave (our hosts for the evening) picked us up for dinner before the show at 300 First. An amazing re-invention of a long time favorite restaurant in town. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food fabulous! I highly recommend this venue!
While we waited for our table we were seated in a beautifully decorated lounge complete with the waterfall using wine bottles (above), a fireplace, nicely arranged furniture and decor. We chose to go with the house specialty – “smoking martini’s” – wow.
Then off to the Civic Center for the Blue Man Group concert — since we we had front row seats we were given plastic ponchos to make sure we didn’t get spattered with anything!
And then it all began…the creativity, talent, energy….wow. Note: They are actually creating music (percussion) with this PVC pipe and sticks.
We were this close. I could have reached out and touched them. It was great to be so close and see all the facial expressions.
They never spoke a word.

Water on the drums with the lights shining from within the drums created a very cook light effect when hit with the sticks.
With tv/computer monitors strapped to their bodies…and becoming their “heads” it created a very unique effect….again, amazing creativity. I highly recommend coughing up the dough to see this show….it is very entertaining….and worth the bucks!
Nate works for the Civic Center part-time doing set-up and teardown when entertainment groups come to town. He helped set up this morning for 4 hours…then was there when the show ended to teardown. It was fun to see him in action.
Nate tearing down the set after the show….he said they have seven semi’s to transport the show! Usually a show has 1 semi truck.
I’m exhausted. Kirk is already in bed….my eyes are getting droopy, I’m getting sleepy, very sleepy, very slllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
What? Huh? Oh, sorry. Goodnight.
