The tree is up, the decorations are out, the cards are a work in progress, I’ve got quite a bit of shopping done, and some baking done….hopefully the baking will be done by next weekend….and the cards out.
As you will see below…I had a “blast from the past” memory the other day….all the sudden I randomly remembered making Reader’s Digest Christmas Trees as a kid (girl scouts probably)….and I had to make one…so I got the Reader’s Digest….and started folding…then when I made a trip to Hobby Lobby for other stuff, I got some gold spray paint and some gold stars….and Voila! Probably only us baby boomers will remember these…so enjoy fellow boomers!
Cara comes home on Thursday….so Kirk hung her curtain rod, and a shelf….almost ready for her arrival now (I painted her room a month ago!)
Saturday Kirk and I started the day with a 10:00 a.m. manicure and pedicure….yep, both of us! It was free! A friend owns the beauty school in town, so she gave us free ones. Then we did stuff around the house in the afternoon (ok, I did….Kirk worked for IBM—argh)…then we went to dinner at Applebees, reviewed our shopping list, and did some shopping. About 10 minutes after we got home (10pm) Danae arrived with a bunch of friends (10 or so?) so we got out the salsa, chips, cookies, pop and I made some quesadillas. They scarfed it all down then started a game of Apples to Apples….and Kirk and I went to bed to the wonderful sound of teens having good clean fun!
Tomorrow…work. Blah. (to quote Jackie!)
But….at least I’ll have a new outfit to wear! I gotta tell ya….bargain of the week…..I stopped in Anne Taylor Loft to check out the sale rack – I had a “spend $50 and get $25 off” coupon I wanted to use. The sale rack was really marked down….and for Saturday only, there was an additional 15% off purchases…..I got a beautiful pair of pants and a pair of gouchos….and a headband…and my total was $19.88!!! Yippee!
Until later…..have a great week everyone!
