After years of talking and dreaming about remodeling our bathroom, we are ready to get this project executed. The bathroom is currently gutted and stripped down to the studs in most of the room, however, I did manage to take some before photos to share where we began with this project (even if I’m a bit embarrassed to show this outdated bathroom.
Our makeover plans include:
- Removing the builder grade 12×12 tile flooring
- Removing the large plate mirror
- Replacing the vanity
- Replacing the vanity top + sinks
- Replacing sink faucets
- Removing the Hollywood lights (aka lightbulb bar)
- Replace vent fan
- Replace ceiling lighting
- Removing the stand-alone shower
- Creating a tiled walk-in shower
- Removing the bathtub
- Removing shallow storage and repurpose the space
- Reconfigure storage behind a door to built-in cabinets
- Replace window
- Replace trim

Bathroom Inspiration
The direction we are going with the bathroom decor will include similar looks in this inspiration photo. To clarify, this mood board was put together at the beginning of our remodel process so some items we are using, others didn’t make the cut.
In my next post I’ll share some of the decisions we have made and the current situation in the bathroom.
