CheriGENERAL

Valentines Day may be over, but love is still in the air among the bird population living around our cottage.

This couple is often seen looking at their reflection in our windows….and flying at their reflections.

Saturday morning they seemed to pose for me as I shot pics through the window.

after a brief pose, the would go back to their reflections…then they would move around to the kitchen window  . . .

Back and forth they went all morning — back window, side/kitchen window

. . . then the elusive Cedar Waxwing showed up …

the newest kid on the block — helping itself to the berries on our tree…

. . . Saturday’s warm sunshine seemed to bring many birds to our feeders and tree — it was like they all came out to visit after many cold, snowy days.

One of these days I’m going to capture a photo of the huge owl that hangs out in our yard.  This owl is so loud we can hear it very clearly inside the house, and even with the radio or television on.  Gabby can hear it even when she is downstairs with the Olympics on!

Trouble is….owls like the dark of night — which makes it a tad bit difficult to get a decent picture.  I’m determined though!
