Did she?

Did I really ski for the first time at 50?

Does having all the gear on prove it?

How ’bout riding the ski lift?
Talking about falling?

Lunch in the chalet?

What about this?

Well, I did it…..another item I can check off my list of 100 lifetime goals and dreams….
I had lots of encouragement — and tips before I went down the bunny hill the first time…and I did fine.  Then it was on to the “cottontail” hill…where I managed to fall about 4 times and REALLY struggled to stand up by the 3rd fall…it took both Kirk and my brother-in-law Dirk to help me up on the 2-4th falls.  That’s when Dirk became my hero.  For the next 8 or so runs down the hill, Dirk was my guide….he held my at the waist and “coached” me on what to do from behind.  It was a perfect way for me to learn — with the control and safety holding onto me, then gradually holding on less and less….think learning to ride a bike!

The video shows me in the “early” stages — of learning.  I eventually got so I could turn a little, and got brave enough to straighten my legs and go faster.

I’m hoping to go skiing again.  I had a lot more fun than I anticipated.
