A fundraising event…

CheriGENERAL

My commute to work is on country roads.
My office is in the middle of 200 acres of forested, rolling hills on the Zumbro River.
I work at a camp.

Thursday evening camp had a huge fundraising event.
Approximately 300 people attended.

My friend, Jo Lynn, and I did the event planning.  Well, not all of it, just the decorations and food plan/purchase/display.  Several desserts were donated by local restaurants.
Camp has named this yearly event, APPLAUSE!  Everyone wore white.
The decorations were white.
The desserts were white.

We incorporated white decor keeping with a camp theme

Paper White (Narcissus) bulbs were planted 4 weeks prior to the event
so they would be blooming on our event date

A local florist gave us a good deal on some cut flowers

I spray painted the curly willow from our tree

I also spray painted  & flocked some jumbo pine cones

White vases from IKEA were donated and were perfect for the dessert table

Birch candles were made by the “guys” at camp by cutting birch trees into different
height logs and drilling holes to fit tea lights
Glittery pine cone ornaments from Pottery Barn added a little bling
A mesh ribbon from Sam’s Club added more shine…

Even white chocolate covered Oreo’s look fancy in this setting!

Jo Lynn and I worked many weeks pulling this together.
Then we worked from 8am – midnight last Thursday evening to set it all up, then tear it all down!
Monday’s work day will be organizing all the decor items and packaging them up for next year!
