This past weekend we gathered to celebrate my niece and her sweet little boy on the way. It was such a fun day filled with flowers, food, family and friends. I loved putting together some of the details, and today I’m sharing all the pretty touches and inspiration from the shower!

I wanted the baby shower to feel fresh, and welcoming — with a nod to vintage. We used plaid tablecloths in a soft green color, white serving dishes and vintage dishes in the Spode Buttercup pattern. Some of the dishes were my grandmothers, and some were recently found in a resale shop at a steal. We also snuck in some vintage toys from my childhood.

The showers I host may seem a little old fashion to some. There aren’t balloon arches, disco balls, and extravagant decor. A simple and pretty buffet table and touches of flowers are my preference. For this shower, I used simple mini floral arrangements with oranges, limes, grapefruit and flowers from Trader Joes, and even some Queen Anne’s lace from the road side. I created the arrangements in the fruit using peach, white, yellow, and orange flowers and scattered them on the tables and buffet. The flowers were hands-down my favorite part to work on.

Of course, food is always a highlight at a shower. I chose to keep the menu simple: Chia pudding with various toppings, mini sausage and broccoli quiche, fresh fruit, scones with lemon curd + devonshire cream, Danish Kringle and an Everything Bagel Salad. For beverages we offered grapefruit and orange juice, coffee and ice water. I plan to do another post with recipes.

To serve the Chia pudding I collected empty Oui yogurt jars from family and friends and Buy Nothing on FB Marketplace and purchased bamboo lids for the jars on Amazon. You can find the lids HERE. The toppings for the Chia pudding included maple syrup and agave nectar, granola, toasted coconut, and mixed berries.

The mama-to-be was showered with so many thoughtful gifts, each one a reminder of how loved this little one already is. One of my favorite gifts given was a large amount of thrifted and adorable vintage and newer baby clothes gifted by a sister of the momma-to-be. It was so heartfelt and especially meaningful. For me, the best part of the whole day was simply being together — celebrating a new life, laughing with family, and watching my niece glow with joy as she talked about her future as a mom. These are the kinds of gatherings that remind me how important it is to pause and soak in the sweet moments.

Here are a few things I learned along the way:
- Keep the décor simple but thoughtful — flowers always work wonders.
- Food doesn’t have to be complicated, just delicious and shareable.
- Focus less on “perfect” and more on creating a warm, welcoming space.

It was such a joy to celebrate my niece and her little one on the way. I hope this gives you some inspiration for your own baby shower planning — and a reminder that at the heart of it all, it’s really about love, family, and celebrating new beginnings.
