Next item out of the dumpster gave our entry a little character. I like the added height and interest this larger wood window screen contributes to the space. Maybe it will stay, maybe not. But for now it’s growing on me. Next up my favorite dumpster treasure.
Dumpster Dive. Item 1
Last week I got a text from my friend and comrade in all things decor telling me that the dumpster at the house they are remodeling was being picked up that afternoon, and that she left the stuff she thought I’d be interested in on the top. It was a quick run to her house … Read More
15 minute project
Stopped at Hobby Lobby on my way home from work tonight and picked up some supplies to make some fancy-schmancy magnets. First the magnets. Round. Three quarter inch. Ceramic. 80 of them for $6.99. Should have waited for them to go on sale….or run home for a 40% off coupon. Embellishments next on my list. … Read More

Fireplace improvement
Instant Messaging (yes, we still do that) with Mr. D last week went like this…. Me: Can I paint the fireplace? Him: Go for it. Me: Seriously? That was waaaaay to easy. Him: Yes. If you’ve followed this blog for even a brief amount of time, you know I embrace change, DIY projects and … Read More

My wood spoons, and assorted other kitchen tools have made temporary homes in vases, crocks, mason jars, pitchers, etc over the 30+ years I’ve had my own kitchen. Once they were actually in a real life utensil holder designed specifically for holding utensils. … Read More
Weekend project

There were also nicks and marks on the wall from furniture moving… and a dry wall crack that needed attention. A soft, buttery, cottage-y yellow was my goal. Paint cards were … Read More
Another paint makeover
While I was in the painting mood a couple weeks ago, and working on this piece, I dragged another (long-ago) garage sale find out to the garage to give it a new look too. This character has played many roles in our home(s) over the years, as most of the furniture does around here. Starting out … Read More

I can see clearly now the rain cloud is gone! This. this cloud light. this fluorescent cloud light. has finally evaporated.
