Surprisingly, the flowers and foliage in Door County, WI
were still beautiful and going strong with no sign of frost or fading.
I grew up just a few miles from Lake Michigan, so I realize it is “Lake Effect”.
In the fall, it is always warmer near the lake.
The mix of fall decorations and summer flowers
was stunning.
many of the plants were unique
Some were typical — but planted nicely.
We liked the way the plants were alternately
planted with high and low plants.
Creativity was prevalent —
a weathered root/driftwood with a basket of petunias
was inspiring — Nate brought me home a
root similar to this a few years ago.
Now I know what to do with it!
Speaking of roots …
Do you see it?
It took the four of us a few seconds —
then we saw it.
These are dead trees “planted” upside down
with the roots on top and filled with moss and flowers.
Brilliant!
Anyone have some dead trees they want removed?
