CheriGENERAL, RECENT

I’m switching things up with my Four Things posts—starting today! While you’ll still see updates on what I’m loving, reading, and working on from time to time, I’ll also be sprinkling in a few new topics here and there to keep things fresh.

What I’m Cooking

We have a new favorite meal! This Half Baked Harvest Tuna Poke Bowl is a favorite and on a regular rotation. It is quick and easy to make and perfect for warm summer evenings because there is no cooking involved! I have the full collection of Tieghan’s cookbooks and have made many of the recipes. Kirk and I have enjoyed every single recipe I’ve made from the Half Baked Harvest website and the cookbooks. We often compare restaurant meals to the HBH meals I make at home — most often, the homemade HBH meals win.

I was recently chosen to be a part of the Half Baked Harvest Community. In Tieghan’s words: “The community is a welcoming space where food lovers, hosts, and dreamers come together to share in the joy of cooking, gather around the table, and celebrate life’s beautiful moments—season by season, recipe by recipe.”

What I’m Listening To

Some close friends of ours host a really great podcast, and I’m excited to finally share it with you today! Truth be told, I meant to post about it over a year ago, but it kept slipping my mind. Here’s how they describe the podcast:

Live it Well Podcast

We are Scott + Jami Shull, married two decades, the most unlikely couple, three babes, the best dog, a financial advisor and a stay at home mom, ministry leaders, adoption, a kidney transplant, two states and a million moves. The Live it Well podcast will bring you our real life stories to show you that we all walk through the hard stuff and you are definitely not alone!

What the Kids are Loving

One of the biggest hits during the week we had all eight of our grandkids here was what they lovingly called the “hammock farm.” The hammocks quickly became a favorite spot for reading, relaxing, and just hanging out. We bought them on Amazon and have been really happy with the quality. We’ve got a mix of single and double hammocks, and they’ve been a great addition to our backyard fun.

What I’m Loving

“I first spotted this wood pistachio snack bowl at my sister-in-law’s house and immediately loved the concept. I finally ordered one for myself a few weeks ago, and it’s been a hit! We’re big pistachio fans around here, and this bowl is the perfect way to serve them.” It also works great for sunflower seeds, peanut, cherries and edamame.

The top bowl pops off easily thanks to a magnet—super handy for quick cleanups!

It’s been a full and busy summer so far, and I have so much to share with you! I’d love to hear from you—what would you like to see more of here?
