If you follow me on Instagram you may have figured out that we are currently spending some time in Austin, Texas. It’s a pretty good gig – Kirk works for IBM in Rochester, but a good number of his teammates work here in Austin, so our stay gets us away from the bitter cold winters in Rochester for a few weeks and Kirk gets to work face to face with the Austin crew.
It’s our third year visiting Austin and we have been to most of the “must-see” spots. On our recent (and 3rd trip) to Fredricksburg, we stopped in at FarmHaus Antiques.
This shop has a beautiful selection of time-worn furnishings and unique finds that had me swooning at each turn.
Beautiful chandeliers, pendant lights, wonderfully scented candles, and home goods fill every room.
The features, textures, colors, antiques are incredibly inspiring
As we walked from room to room I wanted to just sit and soak in all the beauty of each space
Everyday items were displayed were like pieces of art.
There is a beautiful collection of chippy furniture, ironstone,
and authentic architectural antiques.
As we wandered from room to room it seemed we were entering a different time, even a different country.
We weren’t in the store for very long, but it was long enough for me to feel inspired and ready to be home nesting.
I felt like I was at a French market when I came across these vintage French jars in a wicker basket.
Fredricksburg is a bustling tourist town with shops lining the main street, antiques, restaurants, museums, a pie shop, wineries, and the nearby Enchanted Rock.
The guys climbed the rock and stayed to watch the sunset at the top. Last time we were here I climbed to the top. This year I stayed back and enjoyed relaxing and reading in the warm Texas sun.
