I struggled for years trying to create a pretty and functional area by my kitchen sink. I found placing the dish soap, hand soap, scrubbers, etc. under the sink was cumbersome and not really practical. Then I tried decanting dish soap into an oil and vinegar cruet with a pour spout which failed too because the soap took forever to drip out of the dispenser. Everything I tried didn’t work for me. Until now.

A pretty and functional solution
I finally figured out a solution when I found an inexpensive ironstone vegetable dish (without a lid) at an antique store in Austin, Texas. I quickly snapped it up with a plan to use it near my kitchen sink. An ironstone dish works nicely for me, but you could also use a small wood cutting board, a basket, any shape serving tray or even a pedestal cake plate.

THEN my friend introduced me to *Dawn Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray. The spray-activated suds cut through grease on contact, without water. It is a faster, easier way to clean as you go. Just spray, wipe, and rinse to stay ahead of the dishes in the sink. I have found that the spray soap lasts much longer than the liquid soaps.

The first thing I did when I got the Dawn Powerwash home was decanting it into a glass spray bottle I had on hand. This is the spray bottle I use. I knew having the original packaging in the blue bottle on my sink counter area wasn’t going to work for me, but I was also concerned that the spray might not work as well in my spray bottle. I was relieved to find that the spray worked as perfectly in my bottle as in the original packaging.

I have a few more clear bottles ordered from Amazon to decant the hand soap into to match the spray bottle. Having matching bottles for the soaps will look better – and why not make a space pretty and functional!

I’m on a mission now to clean, organize, declutter!
