Jack of all trades

CheriGENERAL

“Jack of all trades…and master of none”.

Yeah, that quote sounds like me.  Many creative outlets, venues and classes have been attempted by yours truly over the years.

There is this creative desire lurking inside me that demands to be fed.  Some might call this the plight of the “right-brained” person.  After reading some characteristics of a right and left-brained person , I’ve decided I’m neither.  Does this make me an enigma?  Seems I never fit the mold on things like this.

But I digress.  Basically, today you shall learn about the many ways I have fed the creative desire within me.  I’ve even taken classes (noted by a *) in some of the areas.

The early years:
  • Coloring, finger painting, tracing (I even had a child’s light-table)
  • Dandelion chains
  • Spirograph
  • gum wrapper chains

  • Pop tab chains  (did anyone else make these?)
  • multi-color bead bracelets
  • friendship bracelets
  • macrame
Adult years:
  • Crocheting (grandma taught me how to make granny squares – so I made afghans)
  • Ceramics *
  • Decorating * (class at a furniture store)
  • Tole painting *
  • Wood crafts (I have my own scroll saw!)
  • Calligraphy * (taught by a friend and took 3 classes)
  • Bead jewelry
  • Beaded flowers
  • Bread dough art
  • Scrapbooking
  • Knitting
  • Photography (learning)
  • Photo Editing (learning)
  • Digital scrapbooking
  • Stamping/card making
  • Cooking
  • Refinishing furniture
  • “Throwing” — as in pottery with a wheel
  • Sewing
  • Sewing doll clothes
  • Fabric postcards
  • Crocheting, again….dishcloths
  • Flower arranging
  • Decorating
  • Journals
  • Quilting
  • Stenciling
  • Grapevine wreaths
  • and my current passion…..blogging

That was a pretty long list…and I bet I’ve left out many activities.  I bet those who know me best will know the ones that are missing!
