Last summer and fall I started scanning Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist for antique dressers to paint and re-sell. I really only expected to find one or two, but they just kept showing up. By winter the garage had a nice collection of antique furniture. I managed to collect 6 dressers, 4 tables, a vanity, a hutch, and an end table. One dresser was free, the others were $15-$25.
After spending 6 weeks in Austin, Texas this winter and being away from home so long I was anxious to start a project. I moved this cute little chest of drawers up to my dining area and gave it a fresh new look in just a day!
Miss Mustard Seed milk paint in the color Aviary, one of my favorite colors, was a perfect fit for this cute dresser.
The dresser came with little metal pulls that I forgot to take a picture of before donating them. These pulls from Homegoods aren’t perfect for the dresser (they seem too large to me) but do just fine until I find something I like better.
For now, the dresser is sitting in our dining area. It probably won’t be a forever home for the dresser, but then, nothing in my home has a “forever home” since I change things up on the daily around here! For now, it’s in the bay window with an ironstone pitcher full of forsythia and pussy willow branches I’m “forcing” to bloom.
In my next post I’ll share how I force the branches to bloom indoors.
Stay safe,
