Saturday…..and the nest is empty….
Cara and Danae drove to the Chicago area yesterday with the two little ones in tow. They had an easy trip, the kids were great for them. Nate worked most of the day today and is now caring for a friends dogs while they are out of town.

The weather is incredibly hot….but pool owners love it! Kirk and I were out in the pool for a couple hours today. I’ve got the house back in order, laundry done, sheets washed and am working on a bead bracelet…a new type of beading for me…it is really cool, but very intense work ….pretty much sewing the beads together.

Last night Kirk and I had a nice dinner together….at home. I tried another recipe…it was really good…grilled chicken, artichokes, olive oil, basil, parsley, the herbs were fresh from the garden…we had leftovers tonight. We swam after dinner until about 8:30 then we went to HyVee so I could buy some peaches and marscapone cheese to make a yummy special and pretty dessert for us — I watched the foodnetwork channel yesterday and saw them make this dessert…WOW very yummy.
We’ll have it again tonight!
