Interesting stuff: Born and raised in Northwest Indiana. Dad enlisted in the AF a few years after high school, did basic training in Texas, was stationed at Forbes AF Base in Topeka where he met his bride (mom). During their courtship he was transferred to Keesler AF Base. He hitchhiked from Biloxi, Mississippi to Topeka, Kansas for the wedding — to save money!
