The Hike

CheriGENERAL

Our “want to do” list for our Colorado visit was pretty short … hike in the mountains, see a mountain stream. And a mountain lake.  Check out some eateries, go to Boulder … and maybe downtown Denver.  We knocked out our list like it was our job for 5 days.

First the hike.

We started the day with breakfast in Boulder.  The Kitchen did not disappoint.  The delicious food, comfortable atmosphere, and friendly staff made our breakfast very enjoyable.  So much to like about this place!  If you are ever in Denver or Boulder — go!

Community Night.  How awesome is that?  Would you go?  I would!
Someday I’d love to have a community dinner at the cottage.

Would you attend a dinner with people you don’t know?
With our bellies full of a delicious breakfast we started our hike.
While hiking we found this rustic (abandoned) cabin in the mountains.

Brenda and Steve took us off the beaten path which was snow covered, but the beauty was worth the extra effort
hiking up the mountain trail on the snow was tricky.
hiking back down was even trickier!
We enjoyed a nice snack at the mountain lake complete with a bottle of delicious wine
and relaxed while taking in a breath-taking view.
the Aspen trees look so much like Birch
It is always so refreshing to visit with long-time friends,
