Well, I finally have managed to scrape together a few minutes to write in my blog. My fear of starting a blog was always that I wouldn’t keep it up. Thanks to Cara and her help reminding me how to put pictures up…and prodding me along to actually do it! Now that I have the picture loading mastered, I will bore you all with lots of them! It HAS been a long time since I’ve blogged. In February I had a good excuse…not only did I have two toddlers here for a week, but three people got sick that week (you’ll see the pics). We had a blast (and got very tired) with my sister Amy’s two little ones. Kirk and I sure get funny looks going out with toddlers in tow! Over spring break Kirk, Danae, Nate and I drove to St. Louis to visit Kirk’s dad. It was a nice change of pace….and WEATHER. I actually sat outdoors in shorts, tank top, and barefeet and got some SUN! Kirk mowed the lawn …and it was till March! I’m living too far north!

My latest news is on Wednesday my boss asked me to accompany him and the board of directors to their retreat at the end of April. He also invited Kirk to go along! So…we are headed to the beautiful Torrey Pines Lodge, in San Diego, CA…on the Torrey Pines golf course…all expenses paid! Of course I will be “working” while there….assisting the board members and CEO and being the tour guide….and trip organizer. I am so flattered to have been asked….and a bit nervous….but I KNOW it will be a ton of fun…and a good experience. Besides the meetings…and some free time….we are going to a very nice restaurant for a dinner, on a Harbor Cruise, and to Fashion Valley shopping (on the water). Kirk will be attending a Padres game with the guys…he is the “go to” person for that trip.
The bummer part of this trip…..is Kirk and I will miss sending the kids to prom. I know…you are thinking….”how could you”!!! Well…so far Danae hasn’t been asked….and she said…of course you should GO to CA and not stay here. Nate was less excited about us not being here…but he knows he would pick CA if given the opportunity. Nate is taking Katie….who he took last year…and has taken to other dances. Cara is coming home for the weekend…and she will make sure everything goes well. She will probably recruit some help too.

Jackie….are you available on the 29th to help with pictures if needed?
