Wisdom

CheriGENERAL

Typically I don’t watch daytime television.  In fact, I really don’t watch much television at all.  I do, however, watch Dr. Phil McGraw.
I think he has good advice, and speaks with wisdom:

If you’ve gone into a marriage and you haven’t been clear
about how you’re going to handle money,
how you want to raise kids,
who is going to work or stay home or what have you,
then you’ve set yourself up for failure.

You can’t change what you don’t acknowledge.

When you choose the behavior
you choose the consequences.

When you don’t respond to what happens in the world,
you don’t respond to what people say to you.
What you do is respond to what you say to yourself
about what they say to you.
It’s all about you, it’s not about them.

The best way to predict future behavior
is to look at past behavior.

The work a stay-at-home mom does in caring for a family
and a home is tremendous and exhausting and awe-inspiring.

Acknowledge and accept accountability for your life.
Understand your role in creating results.

Stop making excuses and start making results.

The most powerful influence on a child’s life
is the same sex parent.

Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding.
