Homemade Granola

Course Breakfast, Brunch

Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups Oatmeal
  • ½ cup Brown sugar
  • ½ cup coconut
  • ½ cup powdered milk
  • ¾ cup wheat germ
  • 2 cups pecans (or almonds) | chopped
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • ¾ cup honey
  • tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbs water
  • 1 cup chopped, dry dates, cranberries or raisins

  • Preheat oven to 300°
  • Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Do not add dried fruit until after baking.
  • Stir together all liquid ingredients in a separate bowl
  • Combine ingredients thoroughly, then spread on 2 large cookie sheets lined with parchment paper
  • Bake at 300° for 20-25 minutes, STIR every 10 minutes.
    Watch closely at end of baking because it browns quickly and you don't want it to burn.
  • Cool on cookie sheets. Break into smaller pieces.
    Add desired dried fruit.
  • Store in air tight container after cooling.
