Chair clean-up

a chair

A chair was for sure not on my “look for list” when I headed to Gold Rush last weekend.  However, it is no surprise to me that I brought one home.  A $5 chair is difficult to pass up, especially when it is so cute.

As charming as the chair is, it was extremely dirty.
Too bad I didn’t realize how dirty until I sat on it wearing white shorts.
I started cleaning the chair by wiping it down with a damp cloth.
It made some difference, but it was still dirty and not cleaning very well.
So I mixed some Murphy’s Oil Soap into the water and voila!  The dirt came off much easier.  It took several complete chair washes before the water didn’t turn muddy brown.  It was so rewarding to see the chair come to life as the dirt vanished.
When the chair was as clean, I wiped it all down with Miss Mustard Seed Hemp Oil, which you can purchase HERE from my friend, Chris, at Midwest Cottage and Finds
MMS Hemp Oil is like gold for old, tired wood!
