Flowers

CheriGENERAL, LIFESTYLE, WEDDINGS

The flowers for Cara & Tim’s wedding were very simple, and very pretty….and pretty dadgum inexpensive!
The morning before the wedding I picked up a friend and my sister-in-love and hit the wild flower hotspot …. the exit ramp off the highway near The Cottage.

We picked 5 HUGE buckets of Queen Anne’s Lace along the roadside

The only flowers purchased for the wedding were the bridesmaids all baby’s breath bouquets which were VERY reasonable, a box of baby’s breath from Sam’s Club, a small bouquet fromt he supermarket of hydrangea, and the brides bouquet.

I made the boutonnieres from Sola roses I bought on line using leaves we made from burlap for the backing, and fresh baby’s breath.  For the groom’s bout we added some blue cornflowers from my cutting garden.  I should clarify … Danae’s friend, Kate made the burlap leaves, I attached them to the roses, and my dear friend, Lisa put the baby’s breath and final touches on the flowers the morning of the wedding.

We had lots of Queen Anne’s Lace and used it freely around the reception site.

Hydrangea, baby’s breath, and blue thistle filled in the lower portion of the cupcake stand.

Individual Queen Anne’s Lace blooms floated in water on tables

and stood high in vintage looking milk glass vases

“Lace” bouquets were everywhere ….

We pretty much had a “lace” theme goin’ on — which all started with the vintage style lace wedding dress ….

The flowers… simple, perfect …. and under budget.  Thanks to friends Deb, Sue, Steve, Lisa, Jo Lynn, my sister, Dee Dee, and my sister-in-love Sandy, the flowers and tables looked amazing.  You guys worked like crazy and made the bride’s wedding dreams come true!
Words will never come close to expressing our gratitude!
